We’re looking for an experienced Technical Content Strategist to join our marketing team reporting to our VP of Marketing. You’ll help us connect, communicate, inspire and explain our products to developers everywhere.
Areas of responsibility:
Storytelling: craft compelling monthly product newsletter content, bring together stories and content from across all parts of marketing and our customers’ and partners’ blogs.
Copywriting: Ensure our message is translated appropriately across audiences and consistent across our website, owned channels, and sales collateral.
Copyediting: Work across the organization to ensure internal and external communications are high quality and digestible.
SEO: Work closely with our SEO team to build out strategic campaigns and their content. You’ll measure what works and what doesn’t and optimize as you go.
Case studies: Collaborate with our customers to build compelling pieces around their stories, finding unique angles and amplifying their success.
Product and feature launches: Work with product marketing to build compelling narratives and content for launches along with a solid distribution strategy
Sales enablement: Assist with development of whitepapers, technical info sheets, and other collateral as needed
Guide all things content: Work with our technical writers and developer advocates to prepare a webinar outline or conference talk pitch. Help guide content for advertising and growth campaigns. Put together the booth content we’ll use across our conference presence, including post-event followup.
What we're looking for
Have experience crafting narratives for technical audiences.
Are a self-starter that can hit deadlines. Once you have what you need to get started, you’re happy going heads down and cranking out content.
Love all kinds of writing: from e-books to case studies to the occasional docs update. You love the art of communication as a tool for education as well as conversion.
Are excited by the idea of bringing the customer’s perspective and voice to everything you write.
Are collaborative and interested in helping level up the overall level of writing and communications at Buildkite
Are a team player and able to wear many writer hats. You’re willing to jump from writing a technical whitepaper to helping refine internal communications to adjusting ad copy.
We’re really excited if you:
Have experience marketing directly to developers and DevOps practitioners.
Have strong domain expertise with developer tools such as GitHub.
Have an understanding of CI/CD or adjacent technologies.
Who you’ll work with
You’ll work horizontally across the marketing team to help with content needs. This means you’ll help developer advocates get technical content into the world, you’ll help write fresh content from scratch for SEO campaigns, you’ll work with product marketing to produce high quality copywriting based on our messaging and positioning, and you’ll work with our creative team to bring visual designs to life with words. You’ll also collaborate cross-functionally with folks in engineering and product to build the stories around what we’re building to our broader audience and market.
