We’re looking for a Senior Front End Engineer to help us build and shape DevTools, to unblock every developer in the world.
In this role, you'll join our Pipelines Edge team. The Pipeline Edge team owns all integration and interface sides of our Pipelines product, meaning projects in this team are customer-facing.
Pipelines allow customers to orchestrate CI builds on their own infrastructure using our open-source agent.
As a Senior Front End Engineer, you'll contribute and often lead team-level initiatives. You’ll contribute towards setting best practices for Front End Engineering in Pipelines Edge and across the engineering function.
You’ll also collaborate closely with Product and Design teams to build new, highly-scalable, product features.
On a typical day, you could be...
Collaborating asynchronously via Basecamp on crafting an upcoming feature or fix.
Creating or tweaking a React component used in our (majestic) Ruby on Rails monolith
Solving problems in our production app and isolating issues to fix.
Video calls with others on the team to discuss or solve problems, or to just say hi.
Providing feedback on a GitHub pull request, or responding to feedback left for you.
Skills and experience we like...
Commercial experience designing and developing tech products using React.js
'Nice-to-have' exposure to Rails, GraphQL, Relay, PostgreSQL
Enjoy collaborating closely with designers to achieve quality and beautiful work.
Believe in quality code, knowing how to balance your high standards with the problems you are solving and external constraints.
Loves solving problems, through collaboration with your team, creating experiments, analysing data, and building fit-for-purpose solutions with the end user front and centre of your mind.
Understand development processes. You are comfortable writing Git commits, pull requests and tests using tools like RSpec or Jest. You know how to tackle critiquing others' code positively and productively, and receiving the same sort of feedback.
Strong communicator that values empathy and kindness when articulating your ideas and feelings when writing or speaking.
Comfortable working remotely and taking initiative when team members are offline.
