Frontend Engineer

About the role
We are looking for an experienced frontend engineer to join the Creative Team, and help us create beautiful, accessible and performant websites. You’ll be responsible for the end-to-end implementation of the marketing site, including frontend engineering, content management, analytics, performance and privacy. You’ll be working closely with the marketing team, and alongside multidisciplinary designers and engineers from around the world.
A typical day for you might look like:
- Building a new page on the site, creating a pull request in GitHub, and sharing the preview URL with team mates on Trello and Basecamp
- Leaving comments on some new site designs in Figma
- Finding ways of improving the content authoring experience using a newly released Next.js or DatoCMS API
- Brainstorming site improvements and analytics changes with marketing team over Zoom
- Investigating a Calibre site speed degradation alert
- Testing a new landing page template to ensure it renders well on a variety of devices, screens and connections
- Pairing with a core team engineer to make changes to the main application’s signup page
This job is for you if you:
- Take pride in collaborating closely with others to create beautiful, accessible and performant websites
- Have deep experience with frontend engineering, and have built responsive websites using modern CSS and Javascript APIs
- Have experience working with React or Next.js, and some experience with NodeJS
- Comfortable with working remotely. We are a remote-first company, so you will need to be comfortable working by yourself and taking initiative when team members are offline.
